These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and UnlockAI ("UnlockAI", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the UnlockAI mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Union) to use the App. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to enter into this agreement.
2. License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, UnlockAI grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the Usage Rules in the Apple App Store.
3. Subscriptions and free trial
The App offers an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the full UnlockAI library, including applied courses, the Prompt Lab, the AI Tools Crash Course, daily challenges, and other premium features.
- Pricing and trial length. Subscription pricing, billing intervals, and any free-trial duration are disclosed in the App and on the App Store at the time of purchase. By starting a subscription or trial, you agree to the price and terms shown to you at that time.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Free trial. If a free trial is offered and you do not cancel before it ends, your subscription will begin and your Apple ID will be charged at the price shown at sign-up. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial ends.
- Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to premium features until then.
- Refunds. All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's policies. We do not directly process payments and cannot issue refunds on Apple's behalf.
- Restoring purchases. If you reinstall the App or switch devices, you can restore an active subscription using the "Restore Purchases" option in the App's Profile screen.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except as expressly permitted by law.
- Use the App in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
- Submit content to the Prompt Lab feature that is illegal, infringes intellectual-property rights, contains malware, or is intended to harass, defraud, or harm others.
- Use the App's AI features to generate content that violates OpenAI's Usage Policies (since the App relies on OpenAI for prompt evaluation).
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its content without our written permission.
- Attempt to circumvent any subscription gate, license validation, or technical protection.
5. Intellectual property
All content in the App — including lessons, quizzes, prompts, illustrations, code samples, the App's name and logo, and the underlying software — is owned by UnlockAI or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. The license in Section 2 does not transfer ownership.
User-generated content (such as Prompt Lab submissions or notes) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant UnlockAI a limited license to process it for the sole purpose of providing the requested feature.
6. AI-generated content disclaimer
Some App features use third-party AI models (currently OpenAI's models) to evaluate prompts or generate feedback. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific situation. Do not rely on it as professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise) and verify important information independently.
7. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UnlockAI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) twenty Canadian dollars (CAD $20).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or for any other reason. You may terminate your use of the App at any time by deleting it from your device and cancelling any active subscription through Apple. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.
10. Apple-specific terms
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and UnlockAI, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. You and UnlockAI agree that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and have the right to enforce them against you.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which UnlockAI is operated, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that province, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
